The annual summer camps of music and dance organized by Sandesha Foundation for Culture and education ended today with a grand fiesta of music and dance.

Swaraj Shetty of Kantara Fame, chief guest of the day exhorted the student to recognize their passion, abilities and aptitudes and work hard to make a mark in the area they choose. He reminiscenced his childhood where he would stand behind the Television as he wanted to appear in the Television. He made his dream come true after fulfilling his mother’s dream that he wanted to see him as an Engineer. After he graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Aadhyaman College of Engineering, he pursued his career of dance, acting and direction. He also stated that he was awestruck with the wonderful performance displayed by the students and exhorted them to make use to the maximum as these things were not available during his younger years.

Fr. Sudeep Paul, Director, Sandesha foundation for Culture and activities welcomed all to the gathering and explained the vision and mission of Sandesha. He also applauded the efforts of the students and encouraged the budding artists to trudge distinct ways to develop their talent for their holistic growth in future ahead. He said that Sandesha aims to build value based society and creating harmony through encouraging and supporting the art, culture, education and folklore related activities. He also spoke on the importance of music and dance gave examples of distinguished alumni of Sandesha such as Cajetan Dias, Sandeep Ballal etc.
During the camp, students were offered a plethora of activities which included, Drawing and Painting, Keyboard, Guitar, Western Violin, Drums, Western Vocal, Hindusthani Vocal, Western Dance, Public Speaking, Creativity Mentoring etc. Students showcased their learnings of summer camp at cultural bonanza Shibirotsava’ 23 with eye captivating performances. The students performed dance and music shows and received encouraging response and appreciation from all parents who were excited and amused to see their children brimming with talents. It was indeed a matter of great pride for Sandesha to handover enriched students to their parents.

The first batch of the camp was held from March 25 to April 5 and the second batch commenced from April 11 and ended on 27th April, 2023. More than 180 students participated in array of activities. Students were zealous to participate in the activities. The students hailed from Hassan, Chickmaglore, Bellary, Shimoga, and Mangalore. The students took part enthusiastically. Lenora, one of students attending the camp, giving her impressions said the students enjoyed every bit of the camp, very courteous staff, lovely and homely atmosphere, day out, classes etc.
